Prayer Warriors

It has been a mentally and physically rough weekend for Wes. Please pray for him as he is ready to meet his maker and yet is burdened to remain here for the family, ministry and loved ones left behind. As Paul says so well in Philippians 1:21 & 23, “For to me, to live is Christ, to die is gain… I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far,…”

It is difficult when one is struggling physically not to allow the mental to check out and be done. Wes is very weak, his body has suffered from the lack of food and constant regurgitation and vomiting. He desires to be doing ministry and making kingdom impact and is frustrated by the fact he can not and is bound to the weakness of his illness. His Spirit is being broken.

I am reaching out for prayer in this regard. Please lift Wes up in prayer as he wrestles with his present condition and that he would feel the Lord’s presence and peace. That he would not regret what he can not do and that the Lord would strengthen him and give him rest.

Side note – we have received new medicines last night and they seem to be helping tremendously with the vomiting. It has just been too long and it’s wearisome to try to eat something wondering if it’s just going to come right back up and cause more problems.

  1. We are lifting your family up in prayer… Jesus knows that Wes has been a beacon of light for so many of us. Please give him a huge hug from me! XOXO

  2. We love you Wes. We respect you and Karen and the life path you have taken for your Lord’s sake. Your children look beautiful. Praying for your spirit to be aligned with His. Peace be with you and your family.

  3. I pray that you and Pastor Wes both feel the Lord’s presence and peace.
Even lying still, he is a testimony, and so are you.

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
    (based on Philippians 4:7)

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” – John 14:27

“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.” – Jeremiah 31:25

That’s very encouraging about the new medications. I pray that they continue to help/prevent the vomiting,
and that he is able – and not afraid – to eat food.

    1. Wes and Family
We are praying for your strength and peace.
      Thinking of you often.

  7. Love, hugs and prayers to each of you from one of
Wes’s primary SS teachers. Wes taught me that
one doesn’t have to appear to be listening to
have the answers. What a challenge to a new untrained teacher.
But what a delight! And what a teacher he was to me personally
of different learning styles. Thank you Wes. God’s Blessings on
    all of you.

  8. Praying. Praying for peace and hope, for strength and rest. For the never ending assurance of the presence of God in every day and moment. We love you, Wes!

  9. Our Father in heaven, your name is Holy. We join in praying for Wes, for Karen, for Dakota, Kadin, and Kasey, that you Father would pour out your peace and a palpable sense of your presence even in the midst of pain and weariness and sorrow. We cry out “Abba, Father,” desiring that you would ease Wes’ suffering and allow him to recognize how he serves you in total faithfulness even when the “doing” looks different right now. May he hear clearly how delighted you are in his constant, unwavering witness for the power and person of Jesus Christ, despite his physical limitations. Soothe his heart and mind, Jesus, even as you prepare him to be fully healed in your time and place. Thank you for your faithfulness that has defined his faithfulness, and that if his family, in the face of nearly unbearable struggle and loss. We recognize our broken world and broken bodies do not have the final say, though we grieve nonetheless, for you have wired us for love and relationship. We look forward with hope in the Person of Jesus our Messiah and King to that day when all will be restored and reunited. Thank you for wise doctors and helpful medications. May we, who suffer with the Coddington family from afar, learn to live with such exemplary faith when our struggles come. Amen.
