Encouragement From an Old Friend

One of the first emails I got concerning my kidneys was from a friend in Michigan. It was more of a commentary on my brother and his willing sacrifice. I thought I’d share it here. Thank you Greg for the encouragement. And thank you Steve for the love and sacrifice.

From Greg:
This quote was always one of my favorites and it definitely applies to your brother, what an amazing gift that he is willing to give and undertake.

“No greater love hath a man than he who lay down his life for his brother. Not for millions, not for glory, not for fame. For one person…in the dark…where no one will ever know…or see.” – Michael J Gelb

  1. We were together with some friends we haven’t seen in 12 years and the children brought up the transplant coming up, so we shared.

What struck our friends the most was the willingness to step up…”it speaks volumes of the kind of family you have”. They couldn’t even imagine anything one in their families being even willing to give a little to another.

Steve would and probably is embarrassed to think that others are making a “big deal” about this…but it is…not many people have anyone in their lives that are willing to love so much.

I have the three best brothers in the world…and I hope that you all know it!

    Sending tons of love…
